About the game
A remake of Pokémon Gold that meets, and sometimes exceeds, fourth-generation standards. The first Pokémon in the party once again follows the hero, this time regardless of species, with its own comments based on location and mood. The game came with the Pokéwalker, a pedometer that lets players take a Pokémon for a walk and return with experience and rare finds. Ho-Oh appears early in the story, while the full Kanto region and a battle with Red await after the Pokémon League.

A diagram, not a world map: distances are not to scale, there are no coastlines, and a route that bends in the game is a straight line here. The directions are accurate, though — every connection matches the game. The legend below the drawing explains each symbol.

- Sea route — Surf only
