About the game
Alola breaks with the routine of eight Gyms. Instead, Trainers complete island trials that culminate in a battle against an oversized Totem Pokémon supported by allies. New features include Z-Moves, enormously powerful attacks that can be used once per battle, and regional Alolan forms that adapt familiar creatures from Kanto to the tropics. Solgaleo, the legendary lion of the sun, represents the game on its cover. The cumbersome HM system was replaced by Poké Ride, while the talkative Rotom Dex comments on nearly every step the player takes.
