About the game
The companion version to Pokémon Gold, represented by Lugia, the legendary guardian of the seas, which is caught in the Whirl Islands instead of Ho-Oh. The differences come down to encounters: Pokémon Silver offers Vulpix, Meowth, and Gligar, among others, while Pokémon Gold has Growlithe, Mankey, and Spinarak. Everything else, from the dual Johto and Kanto map to the Pokégear phone and day-and-night cycle, works exactly the same. Choosing a version was therefore mainly a choice between the legendary Pokémon on the covers.

A diagram, not a world map: distances are not to scale, there are no coastlines, and a route that bends in the game is a straight line here. The directions are accurate, though — every connection matches the game. The legend below the drawing explains each symbol.
