About the game
A remake of the original Pokémon Red built on the third-generation engine. Kanto retains the original layout and pace while gaining Abilities, the split Special stats, weather, and Double Battles. Earning the National Pokédex opens the Sevii Islands, an entirely new archipelago with its own storyline and Pokémon from Johto. The game was sold with a wireless adapter, allowing trading and battles without a cable.

The number you see in the game is regional — different from the National number in our Pokédex. These lists keep the in-game order.

A list of wild encounters from this specific version, not an approximation by generation. It does not include starters, gifts, trades or Pokémon obtained only by evolving. The sprites come from this release — this is how these Pokémon looked on screen back then. Below are the first 120 by Pokédex number.

A diagram, not a world map: distances are not to scale, there are no coastlines, and a route that bends in the game is a straight line here. The directions are accurate, though — every connection matches the game. The legend below the drawing explains each symbol.
- Route — number inside
- Sea route — Surf only
- City
- Pokémon League
- Interior — cave, forest, tower; placed next to its entrance
- Path between places
- Path that requires Surf
- Entrance to an interior — not a passage to the other side
